Released on April 13, 2018, the Xiaomi Black Shark is considered to be the first true gaming smartphone in history and it came our way through a company that likes to invent it.
The only device that can prevent this handset from reaching its goals is the Nubia’s model that is set to release on April 19. Anyway, the Black Shark is out and we are going to get acquainted with all of its features.

Overview
The Xiaomi Black Shark comes with a massive screen that will be a delight to all gamers. We can see the screen stretches all the way to the sides, even though it has some bezels at the top and bottom corner. A selfie camera and speaker grille are visible at the top, while the physical home button at the bottom bezel doubles as a fingerprint scanner as well.
The 5.99-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is ready for all types of multitouch for gamers. Boasting of 1080 x 2160 pixels in resolution and 403 pixels per inch density bringing your games to live with clear and sharp quality. Apart from dishing out an 18:9 aspect ratio, the screen stretches up to 76% screen to body ratio and has a 97% DCI-P3 coverage.
Behind this beast is another beast, literally. The powerful Snapdragon 845 chip from Qualcomm with Octa-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-cores of the processor on this beast runs at an impressive speed of 2.8GHz with 10nm process technology. Dominating graphics here is the Adreno 630 graphics processor.
There are two versions in terms of RAM and storage space, there’s the standard version with a massive 128GB internal storage space and 8GB RAM. While the cheaper version packs 64GB internal storage space and 6GB RAM. The storage spaces are not upgradeable, it has no memory card slot. The Black Shark runs on Android 8.0 Oreo.
This gaming smartphone sports dual shooters at the rear, the 12MP + 20MP dual camera has f/1.8 + f/1.8 aperture and 1.25 µm + 1.0 µm pixel size respectively. Features on the cameras include 2x optical zoom, dual pixel phase detection, autofocus, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama, dual-LED dual-tone flash, and others. Powering the Xiaomi Black Shark is a 4000mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology (Quick Charge 3.0). With the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take up to 1.5 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
