Overview

Infinix Hot S3 highlights a 5.65 inches screen with Full HD display resolution, the screen has a 2.5D curve at the edges and a resolution of 720 by 1440 pixels with around 285 pixels for each square inch.

It has an 18:9 aspect ratio and a screen-to-body ratio of 81% since it has minimal bezels, so it is good for media consumption, and you also get an option to stretch the content on the screen when watching videos on apps such as YouTube to fit the 18:9 display.

Above the display, Infinix has placed a metallic speaker grille, a selfie camera, and a dual-LED flash. The loudspeaker, Micro-USB port, and primary microphone are at the bottom, while the 3.5mm headphone jack is at the top.

The Infinix Hot S3 has good hardware for the price. It is powered by the Snapdragon 430 SoC, which is an octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. There are two variants of this smartphone, one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, and the other with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. We had the lower priced variant for review and found that it had over 22GB of free space available. Storage is expandable using a microSD card of up to 128GB in the dedicated slot.

Android 8.0 Oreo is pre-installed on the Hot S3 out of the box with the company’s XOS v3.0 skin on top, Infinix XOS has been widely praised for it’s sleek and well-designed user interface.

The back sees a 13 megapixels camera with dual LED flash while sitting in the front panel is a 20 megapixels camera with its own dual LED flash for outstanding selfie experience. Some pre-installed camera features include; auto-focus, face detection, phase detection, beautifier and more.

The Hot S3 has a 4000mAh non-removable battery which helped the phone clock 13 hours and 5 minutes in our HD video loop test. The phone can last one day with light to medium usage but will need to be charged by nighttime if you are a heavy user.
